Yellow Cab, Taxis Fiesta, Compass Bank Private Client Services, Hobby Center and Artista Host Benefit Performance of “The Toys Take Over Christmas”

HOUSTON (December 20, 2004) – More than 100 children from the Boys & Girls Club of Houston today enjoyed a chauffeured ride courtesy of Yellow Cab and Taxis Fiesta from Club locations throughout Houston to the Hobby Center where they viewed a special performance of "The Toys Take Over Christmas."

"Yellow Cab is committed to giving back to the community we serve," said Robert Rugg, President of Yellow Cab Houston. "By providing transportation for these young folks, we are able to give them something they otherwise might not experience. Until today, many of the children had not been to the theater or taken a ride in a taxi cab."

The once in a lifetime performance was an exciting all-day event for the children. Immediately following the performance, the children and their chaperones enjoyed snacks courtesy of Artista restaurant and had the opportunity to meet the characters from the musical. In addition, the children received a special gift from the Hobby Center’s young professionals group, the Supporting Cast. "The Toys Take Over Christmas" is the story of Sunny, a spirited rag doll, who makes astonishing discoveries in the toy shop. In this classic story for all faiths, she teaches her fellow toys and their creator that it is never too late to find the joy of forgiveness and compassion.
