Taxicab drivers are independent contractors. The following items will be considered when evaluating a new enrollee/driver: 

  • The age of the driver – we are looking for drivers who are at least 21 years of age
  • U.S. driving experience
  • The number of moving violations
  • The number of at fault accidents
  • The number of DWI convictions – any DWI convictions within 5 years will disqualify the driver absent extenuating circumstances
  • Texas Driver's license with current address shown
    Each independent contractor driver is responsible for obtaining a taxi driver's license from the City of Houston.
